campus life magazine analysis
The masthead is light blue and has a simple formal font style this connotes that it’s slightly more grown up and its targeted at mature students and that’s why the front cover uses subtle colours. The colourful masthead shows that this magazine is for students because it’s really eye-catching. The central image is a two shot at mid close up and I think mid close up was used so the audience could see the classy clothing in the picture and this reinforces the idea of maturity coming across through the front cover.
In the table of contents the only colours used are black, red and blue and this colours match and compliment each other and this makes the page more bold and it really stands and this technique is used to keep the reader interested.
The table of contents is split up in sections and this makes it look less busy and serious even though it’s in a simple font style.
aspire magazine analysis
this is aspire magazine it’s a student magazine aimed at both genders and this is shown through the use of colour. There is a mixture of varied colours from pink to green. The masthead is big, bold and white and takes up a quarter of the page layout . The masthead links into student life and that’s why it will appeal to students. The central image is a mid close up on a male. The cover lines are bright pink and bold and the stand out from the page because all the other colours are neutral but this is an affect that brings your attention to everything on the front page. The contents page is in black and green and has a simple font style and the page is basic but it also has images and this is eye catching because it makes the page colourful and this used to keep readers more interested. The contents page is broken up into different sub sections and each section has a colourful green tittle and this makes it easier to read and more interesting
