6: what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product.

I have used blogger to post all of my research and planning and analysis as well as my front cover, contents page, double page spread and evaluation. blogger has also proved effective in time management because i can easily track my progress.

To create, make and edit my front cover , contents page and double page spread i used Adobe In Design , i also downloaded a trial version to my own laptop so i could catch up at home if needed to, or so i could tweak a few things.
I used a Samsung catapults WB1000 digital camera to take images that later be featured in my magazine.i used photofiltre to edit the images. I chose to use photo-filtre over photo-shop because i thought it was easier and quicker to use.
I used Microsoft office power point, to create my presentation on the analysis of front covers , i then uploaded the presentation to slideshare , then embeded the link to my blog.
I used survey monkey to conduct a questionnaire , that asked the participants about what content they would like to in an RnB magazine , what colours to use and which celebrities they would prefer to see in a magazine
I used my Logitech webcam to record the audience response front my magazine. i then used windows movie make to cut and edit the videos , and add titles , captions and music. i then uploaded the video to you tube , then embedded the link my blog. i also used facebook to get people's responces to my magazine by creating a group where i uploaded my magazine and ask questions.

Overall i learnt a lot about technology through out this production because prior to this project i had never used , survey monkey , slide share and photo-filtre. also i had never attempted to record a video , that i had to cut and edit and so it was fun having to learn how to use everything and to increase my knowledge in ICT

5 :how you attract / address your audience.
I decided to use an informal mode of address i.e. talking about gossip but i also kept the cover lines formal so i keep a degree of professionalism. the cover is what the audience would see first if this was on a magazine stand or any shop, this is the analysis.
this is a video about for the audience feedback on my final magazine

3: what kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why
I think Bauer media, the multinational media company, would be the best to distribute my magazine. This is because Bauer operates in 15 countries world wide and also worldwide circulation of Bauer Media Group's magazine titles amounts to 38 million magazines a week. this shows that they already have loyal customers and a lot of experience in the publishing industry.
Ithink Bauer media would want to distribute my magazine because their popular brands are women's weekly magazines like 'take a break' and 'that's life' and then in the music magazines they only have 'Kerrang' and 'Q' and their both target rock music fans therefore there's definitely a gap in the market for an RnB magazine like 'beat'.
Time.inc is the only other magazine institution that publishes magazines like mine i.e. they publish vibe magazine which is a popular RnB and hip hop themed magazine. In addition to the magazine, time inc. also publishes books on hip-hop and RnB culture

1: In what ways does your media product use develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Before I produced my own student magazine, I researched other magazines to look at the codes and conventions of student magazines.
One convention I have used on my front cover is big central image that relates to the music genre of the magazine , another convention i used was to have the bar code and price on the front cover. on the front cover i also used a purple, black and white colour scheme and using a recognizable colour scheme used in magazines to create a recognizable house style . i also followed the convention of using different size and font on text to attract an audience. i used a formal mode of address because i have a targeted audience of 18 to 25 year old's and being formal seemed more appropriate.

my contents page carries on the colour scheme of my front cover creating brand identity. the contents page contains a table of contents then images and a masthead and this is a typical trend in most magazines. i also followed the convention of adding page numbers on the actuall images.
on my double page spread i have a close up , eye level shot image on the first page , this is typical for a magazine but i also placed quotes from the article on anchor the image. on thesecond page od the double page spread i used my beat logo on the top right coner , i did this to show consistency in my magazine . most magazines use the same colour scheme all though the magazine and i followed this convention.
